Join the St. Johns Farmer’s Market Board!
If you are passionate about the St. Johns Farmer’s Market and want to get more involved, consider becoming a board member! All board members are expected to attend the majority of board meetings (the first Thursday of the month from 7 to 9 pm, with a second monthly meeting in April and May), be able to commit to volunteering at the St. Johns Farmer’ Market at least one day during the market season and commit to visit one other local farmers’ market prior to the opening of the SJFM market season. All board members are responsible for arranging to have someone to fill in for them in the event that they are not able to complete their duties.

Secretary – Responsible for recording meeting minutes and disseminating information to all Board members, responsible for maintaining documents and databases developed by Board members, responsible for filing appropriate documentation with City, State and Federal agencies, responsible for record management and archives
Community Outreach Coordinator – Filled
Healthy Living Booth Coordinator – Filled
Communications/Marketing Coordinator – Responsible for advertising, marketing and branding of the SJFM. Must be proficient with social media, website maintenance, print materials or be able to delegate and recruit and manage others with the necessary skills to uphold the SJFM Market brand. Assists Market Manager with special event coordination
Volunteer Coordinator – Filled
Fundraising Coordinator – Researches grants and other avenues of funding, coordinates writing of grants and grant reporting and solicits donations. Responsible for ensuring proper recognition for all donors, responsible for coordinating annual fundraising event
Logistics Coordinator – Ensures legal requirements are met for use of the physical space and does problem-solving regarding site issues both the short- and long-term, responsible for continued sustainability of the market (ie) recycling and composting, ensures the safety of market patrons by noting hazards and maintaining appropriate road closure signs, responsible for storage
Arts & Culture Coordinator – Filled
Sprout Corner Coordinator – Recruits and schedules market day hosts for the Sprout Corner. Responsible for kid’s education and activities related to sustainable living and eating healthy
New Partnerships Coordinator – Creates and maintains relationships with local organizations serving low-income and minority populations to disperse market tokens. Maintains partnerships and programs with: Urban Opportunities, WIC, FDNP and AllOne, Continues community outreach efforts
Business Owner at Large – Not required to attend all board meetings. Will act as the voice of the St. Johns business community and work to disseminate information between the SJFM board and the business community
Vendor at Large – Filled
2 Roosevelt High School Students at Large – Encouraged to attend as many board meetings as possible. Will strive to be a part of building community in St. Johns through market involvement and local service
